Dancing in memory of Jenny

Line dancers have honoured a friend who lost her battle to cancer by raising more than a thousand pounds for The Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Jenny Carman, who lived in Shouldham, had been a regular at line dancing events around the West Norfolk and Fenland area.

Her friends Russell and Maggie Clarke organised a dance in the HIAM Sports and Social Club in Prickwillow on January 20, which was attended by 95 people, to raise money for the hospital’s cancer care and treatment fund.

The couple have presented the cheque for £1,135 to Chemotherapy Nurse Ruth Overton and Vicky Mitchell, Macmillan Information and Support Manager.

Mr Clarke, of Wisbech, said: “Jenny was a good friend and we wanted to do something to honour her memory.

“She loved to dance and would have enjoyed the night. People were very generous with their donations.

“Jenny was treated at the hospital and we are pleased to have donated so much money.”
