Wheely Big Appeal total marches on in Style

A fundraising stall in our main reception has added more than £500 to the Wheely Big Appeal total.

It means we’ve now been able to buy 24 new indoor wheelchairs – with just six more to go to reach the Trust’s campaign target.
Twice a month Style Basics uses the hospital’s dedicated fundraising stall unit to sell products such as make-up, fragrance and gifts to staff and visitors. The hospital Charitable Fund receives a percentage of the sales. Last Friday (March 16) was different as every penny taken was donated to our £24,000 appeal.
For 16 years, business owner Susanne Benjamin’s team has visited hospitals to help with fundraising.

The amount donated to the Wheely Big Appeal on Friday was £512, so Style Basics will sponsor half a wheelchair.
Susanne, whose business is based near Spalding in Lincolnshire, said: “I was only too happy to donate the takings to the Wheely Big Appeal. I’m very appreciative of the service the NHS offers.”
Laurence Morlaàs, Fundraising Executive, added: “Susanne manages one of our most popular fundraising stalls and staff members like the opportunity to shop on site during their breaks and support our patients.
“We are extremely grateful to Susanne for running a special charity day. People clearly enjoyed the bargains and buying goods which Style Basics doesn’t normally sell here.”
In January 2016 Susanne’s business ran a charity day for the QEH Excel Appeal – Excellence in Elderly Care and raised £460.
Anybody wishing to support the Wheely Big Appeal can send a cheque payable to Wheely Big Appeal to The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn, Gayton Road, King’s Lynn, PE30 4ET or donate to www.justgiving.com/qehkl-wheelybigappeal
