Following twelve years of treatment in The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn’s Urology department, Ron Adams wanted to show support for the unit with a £570 donation.
The money was raised on Ron’s 80th birthday where his friends gathered and made donations to the unit instead of buying presents.
Ron’s wife, Pauline, along with friends Jean, Mary and Carol, helped to cater for the party.
This isn’t the first time Ron has donated towards the unit, with a previous donation of around £300 being made some years ago.
Ron said: “These ladies who have looked after me over the years have been great, the care given has been excellent. I just wanted to give something back to the unit for all of the help and support.”
Sally Edwards, Uro-Oncology Nurse Specialist, said: “We would like to thank Ron for his generous donation and continued support of the unit.”
