A King’s Lynn pensioner has proved he is a cut above the rest by raising hundreds of pounds to say thank you to clinicians at the West Norfolk Breast Unit.
Jim Evans has collected £601.45 to say thank you to the team who had cared for two family members by undergoing a sponsored haircut.
In November, 78-year-old Mr Evans went along to Goulds Barbers in King’s Lynn to have 250ml cut away.
He said: “I wanted to do something to support this unit as they have done an excellent job for the family members who have been treated here. I can honestly say that we cannot fault this hospital.
“My hair was much longer than normal so it was nice to have it cut away.”
Mr Evans has now presented a cheque to Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon Amy Burger and Senior Breast Care Specialist Nurse Angela Holford.
Miss Burger said: “I would like to say a huge thank you to Jim for his support. We are looking at a number of projects which look at improving the treatment and experience for our patients.”
