BBQ in a pig sty cooks up a fundraising storm for QEH

A barbecue in a pig sty raised hundreds of pounds to support cancer patients at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Master of Norfolk Farmers Lodge 8393 Rodney Reynolds and his wife Marina organised the barbecue to raise money for the QEH’s Macmillan Cancer Care and Treatment fund and Norfolk Accident Rescue Service (NARS).

More than 85 people enjoyed the event, which was held in Heacham last year and raised a total of £1,255.

Mr and Mrs Reynolds dropped off a cheque for £690 to staff at the QEH.

Mr Reynolds said: “We were really pleased to have raised so much money for two worthwhile charities and I would like to thank everyone for their support.”
