A popular West Norfolk bowls player has been honoured by family and friends who have raised £2,000 to support cancer patients.
Bowlers across Norfolk have gathered together to put on events in memory of Gary Todhunter.
Singles Champion Gary, who died in August 2016, was well-known on the rinks of King’s Lynn and South Lynn Bowls Clubs. He had also represented the county.
His wife Janet along with daughters Sarah Carter and Tracy Todhunter-Martin presented the £2,000 cheque to the QEH’s Cancer Care and Treatment Fund.
Mrs Todhunter said: “It started off with Andy Sayer’s President’s Day donation from Norfolk County Bowlers. South Lynn Bowls Club gave a donation and the King’s Lynn Bowls Club organised the Gary Todhunter Memorial Day.
“We would like to thank everyone who raised this amount of money. Gary was very popular and it means a lot to have everyone’s support.
“Gary was treated at the QEH and it is nice to give something back.”
