Footballers were on target to raise more than £700 for the stroke unit at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn.
The representatives of Heacham Minors FC presented a cheque for £713.70 to staff in the West Raynham ward in recognition of the treatment Les Dedman, a coach at the club, had received after suffering a stroke.
The money came from a five-a-side tournament involving ten local adult teams, which was staged at Heacham FC’s ground on 7th August.
Nathan Stockdale, chairman of Heacham Minors, said: “We were really happy with the money raised from everyone involved. We chose to raise money for West Raynham ward because it is a great cause, which is close to our hearts.
Paula Marquez, West Raynham ward manager, said: “It is a really great amount of money and it will make a real difference to our patients.”
