The Bereavement Suite at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital has been shortlisted for the prestigious Lynn News Charity of the Year award- and now the hospital is calling for your backing.
Winning the coveted prize would be fitting recognition for the hospital’s work as it celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.
A business case has been prepared for the Bereavement Suite, as the hospital seeks to raise £185,000 to make the project a reality.
The idea of the Bereavement Suite is to provide a place for families from our community who unfortunately lose their babies either during, or shortly after birth.
Those families would have time with their babies, in a homely environment away from the maternity suite.
The hospital has a Charitable Fund to raise money for the new Suite here at the hospital (Charitable Fund number 42816).
General Manager Kate Jackman said: “With the hospital celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, it would be fantastic if our Bereavement Suite was voted as Lynn News Charity of the Year.
“Winning the award would be a massive boost, so please vote for us and help us to raise the money we need to make this vital scheme a reality and provide a nice, dedicated room for families to spend time with their babies and create memories.
“This Suite will help make a difference to families during their most difficult time and we are sure the public will want to support such a worthy cause.”
