Pubs fundraiser for new pumps, poles and portable TVs!

A sponsored bicycle ride organised by local man raises over £1600 for The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn’s Chemotherapy Suite.

Alan Parrin, who is receiving treatment from the QEH chemo team, organised the bicycle ride for customers of the Six Ringers Inn in Leverington, Wisbech.

Alan said: “I wanted to give a little something back to the nurses who are looking after me, they are a great team.”

The 15 cyclers rode through local villages, stopping at local pubs along the way!

At the cheque presentation, it was clear to see that Alan had a special bond with the nurses who had been with him throughout his journey.

Mandy Coventry, Chemotherapy Sister, said: “This donation is greatly appreciated by all the team – thank you so much to Alan and everyone who played a part in raising the money.

“This donation will be put towards new pumps and poles for the chemotherapy room. We are also hoping to introduce some form of entertainment for our chemotherapy patients, such as a portable television or iPad, so these funds will go towards those plans too.”
