New Chief Operating Officer Announced at QEH

Simon Illingworth – QEH’s new Chief Operating Officer

Simon Illingworth is set to be the new Chief Operating Officer at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn from this August.

An experienced director both operationally and strategically, Simon will join the Trust’s Board of Directors.

He was appointed by CEO Alice Webster and his arrival will further strengthen the executive team complementing recent substantive appointments including Medical Director Dr Rebecca Martin.

Alice commented: “It is fantastic news that Simon will be joining our organisation at such an important time. He will bring a range of vital skills to this role allowing us to fulfil our full potential for staff, patients and the communities we serve.”

Simon is passionate about the NHS alongside developing inclusive leadership, empowering staff to deliver safe and quality driven patient care.

He has been at his current Trust, The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, for the past four years most recently as its Deputy COO. He has also been its divisional director of operations and for almost five years was divisional director and Deputy COO at South Warwickshire NHS FT.

Simon said: “I am delighted to be joining the ambitious team at QEH and look forward to helping the Trust reach its strategic goals, improving performance and making sure patients get the best and most timely care from empowered, responsive teams.”

As Chief Operating Officer, Simon will be playing a central role in the transformation of clinical services across the Trust, including achievement of performance targets, by ensuring the efficient and effective management of all operational services on a day-to-day basis.
