More than 12,000 people have been vaccinated the spring COVID-19 booster bringing QEH in first place in the East of England. Congratulations to the Vaccination team at the QEH for protecting the communities of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk and beyond.
The team commenced their spring COVID-19 vaccination programme in April this year. In line with government guidance the jab was offered to people aged 75 and above, residents of care homes and to individuals who are severely immunosuppressed.
The newly relocated and purpose-built Vaccination Centre on the QEH site opened its doors on 8 March 2023 and is the only COVID-19 vaccination centre in West Norfolk.
Annabelle Howard, Operational Lead at the QEH Vaccination Centre, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for the QEH, and the Vaccination team and I am so proud of everyone’s hard work in keeping our communities safe and protected.”
Helen Blanchard, Interim Chief Nurse, added: “I am hugely proud of the team – this is a fantastic achievement and a true testament to their hard work. We’ve received some lovely feedback from patients using this service and it’s great to see so many members of our community taking up the spring booster.”
This autumn the Vaccination Centre will deliver its flu vaccination programme to patients, staff and public alongside the autumn COVID-19 Booster programme.
Ends.
