“Tonight is all about you” – that was the message to an array of healthcare stars at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital’s inspirational 2023 Team QEH Awards.
The glamorous evening, hosted at the Corn Exchange in King’s Lynn, saw finalists and their guests entertained by comedian and Chaser, Paul Sinha, before the lucky winners were revealed. Paul regaled the audience with tales from his time working at the Trust as a junior doctor.
Twelve awards were presented to members of Team QEH from across a range of specialities and departments. This is the first year nominations have been open to the public for all awards, with more than 500 nominations received across all the categories.

Alice Webster, CEO said: “Today is a proud day for Team QEH. The level of dedication that shone through in each and every nomination is second to none. These awards are testament to some of the incredible staff we have at Team QEH. This year we had more than 500 nominations which is really quite staggering. Those nominations told stories of how so staff have provided excellent patient care demonstrating kindness, wellness and fairness every day in everything that they do.
“I’d like to congratulate all our finalists. Just by getting to this stage means that you are all in winners in our eyes.”

Exceptional Quality of Care Award – Daniel Stolady
One to Watch Award – Emma Hurn
Clinical Team of the Year – Same Day Emergency Care
Non-Clinical Team of the Year – Portering Team
Leader of the Year – Dr Katie Honney
The Award for Outstanding Achievement in Innovation – Dr Udara Wickramanayake
The Kindness Award – Geminick Siriban
The Wellness Award – Fliss Gruneberg
The Fairness Award – Jolene Rosario
The John Voaden Volunteer of the Year Award – Jim Tripp
The Unsung Hero Award – Neville Brooks
The Chair’s Award – Lisa Moore
Chris Lawrence, QEH Chair, closed the evening by congratulating all the winners: “What a brilliant and truly inspiring evening. Congratulations to everyone who was nominated this evening, it’s a huge achievement to be here tonight.”
The final lucky winner of the night was Lisa Moore, Deputy Catering Manager, who was selected for The Chairs Award assomeone that embodies the Trust values of kindness, wellness and fairness in everything that they do.Lisa has dedicated 23 years of service to Team QEH and is well known for having a positive attitude, being a problem solver and is well respected by all who work with her. She’s also renowned for her pastry making skills!
Lisa has no idea she’d been nominated for the ward until she was announced on the night. Lisa commented: “This means the absolute world to me. Every day we deliver our best for the patients and the staff and after 23 years of working in the Trust I still enjoy it and I love it. I’m just so pleased.”
