Molly Hewitt, 19, from Wisbech, beat off the competition at Worldskills UK to be awarded the top gold medal prize.
This national competition held in Manchester, challenged students to prove their skills with six real-life patient scenarios.
Designed to help young people grow personally and professionally by developing their technical skills the event hands out gold, silver and bronze medals to deserving students who perform the best on the day.
Molly is currently in her second and final year of a T Level in Adult Nursing and Health at College of West Anglia and can also be regularly seen wards across The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in her role as a bank Healthcare Assistant.
Molly said: “I was so very pleased to be awarded gold. I am really enjoying my learning and love working at QEH and am keen to continue my career into nursing. I hope to be continuing my healthcare training with and Adult Nursing Degree starting this year.”
Andrea James, QEH Talent Engagement Lead, said: “This is an amazing achievement for Molly who has worked so hard to get to this level. We are very proud of her and look forward to seeing what she achieves next and where her career takes her.”
