The group has supported various charities over the years, but this year has chosen to prioritise The QEH’s Breast Care Unit to make the biggest difference they could to one local good cause.
In addition to golf-themed activities, the club arranged coffee mornings, raffles and even a fashion show. Raising an impressive grand total of £5,000, the club has said how grateful it is to everyone who participated in their endeavours throughout the past year.
Jane Reavell, the Lady Captain of the club, said: “I chose the Breast Care Unit because it was local and breast cancer can affect anyone of any age or sex.”
The funds raised will make a real difference to the King’s Lynn unit – allowing them to invest in further specialist equipment to support patients in need.
Elaine Rudd, Senior Breast Care Specialist Nurse at The QEH, said: “Thanks to the amazing fundraising of the King’s Lynn Golf Club, the Breast Care Unit can continue to provide future patients with specialised equipment such as a larger variety of breast prosthesis and mastectomy bras.
“We are always looking for ways to make our patients breast cancer journey as easy as we can and items like goes a little way toward doing just that.”
