Saqhib Ali, said: “I’m very happy to be joining The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and I look forward to meeting new colleagues and getting to know the governors, staff, patients and facilities of The QEH. The New Hospital Programme and the challenges and opportunities which QEH gains as part of the Norfolk and Waveney system are hugely appealing.”
Chris Lawrence, the Chair of the QEHKL Foundation Trust said: Saqhib’s appointment will help to further strengthen and support the QEH Board’s focus on embedding change and improvement.
Chris, pictured right, explained: “We are delighted to welcome Saqhib Ali to our Board of Directors. Saqhib brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in financial management particularly in the NHS which will only help to further strengthen our organisation as we meet the challenges of delivering high quality and joined up healthcare care to our patients and communities we serve. I am in no doubt that Saqhib will make a hugely positive contribution.
“I also want to take the opportunity to pay tribute to his predecessor David Dickinson who gave great service to the Trust during his two terms of office, helping the Board navigate through a period of great change, especially in coming out of special measures. Our grateful thanks go to David, who served as Chair of the Audit Committee. We wish him every success for the future.”
Non-Executive Directors (NED) are members of our board of directors who, together with Executive Director colleagues, set the strategy for the Trust and scrutinise performance in meeting agreed goals and objectives. Unlike the Executive Directors, they do not have a managerial role within the Trust. Non-Executive Director appointments to NHS Trusts are subject to the Code of Practice of the Commissioner for Public Appointments.
