Your chance to find out more about plans for a New QEH

Residents from across the local area are being invited to hear more about plans and the work taking place to bring a new state-of-the-art new hospital to the area by 2030 at a series of public event being held in October and November.

These events have been rescheduled after previous dates in June were postponed due the announcement of the General Election.

Hosted by the CEO Alice Webster, along with Paul Brooks, Director of Estates and Facilities and dedicated New QEH team members, these events will bring you up to date on the large-scale work going on behind the scenes to deliver a new hospital by 2030.

Attendees will have chance hear more about what the New QEH will look like when it is built within the footprint of the existing main hospital car park, hear about progress and plans for our new multi-storey car park, as well as a timeline on the process being followed  and update on future developments for this major project.

Information sessions are taking place at the following locations from 6.30-7.30pm on:

Tuesday 22 October          Dersingham Village Centre

Wednesday 23 October    Swaffham Assembly Rooms

Monday 28 October           King’s Lynn Town Football Club, King’s Lynn

Tuesday 5 November        Gaywood Community Centre, King’s Lynn

Thursday 7 November                  Virtual event

Wednesday 13 November           The Curlew Centre, Sutton Bridge

Come along to learn how this project is being brought to life.

The team will explain how modern methods of construction will mean the building will be carbon neutral, sustainable, digitally enabled and have the longevity to serve generations to come. They will also outline the ongoing engagement with staff across the QEH to inform the new hospital layout.

There will also be an update on continued work on our current hospital building, as well as the range of modernising projects taking place across the site.

Paul Brooks, Director of Estates and Facilities, said: “We know there has been a lot in the national media about the review of New Hospital Programme announce in July. At The QEH we continue to work towards our deadline of opening a new hospital by 2030 and our teams have been working hard to progress plans as quickly as we can.

“These events will be an opportunity for you to come along to hear more about the New QEH and find out about the investment we are already making in facilities for our patients.

“Specifics around the hospital layout and footprint are very much in the planning stages, as our teams work with 31 clinical and non-clinical groups from across the Trust to inform this.

“I look forward to seeing many of our local community at these events.”
