Golfers dig deep and ace their annual charity event

Seasoned golfers joined together for an annual day of golf challenges with slice of healthy competition all in aid of some local good causes.

Organised by local independent financial advisers, Allen Tomas & Co. Financial Management based in Dersingham, King’s Lynn the day marked the firms seventh annual charity golf event at the renowned Heacham Manor Golf Club’s prestigious links-style course in West Norfolk. The tournament aimed to raise funds for three deserving charities and brought together over 100 participants, including clients, family members, friends, and professional connections, fostering a sense of camaraderie and community spirit.

The event followed a Texas Scramble format with participants enjoyed a series of challenges, including two longest drive holes, two nearest the pin holes, and the exciting “Beat the Pro” challenge on Hole 7. This challenge featured professional golfer Jack Yule, sponsored by Listers BMW.

After wrapping up play around 2pm, participants gathered for a late lunch and prize-giving ceremony, where the top performers of the day were honoured.

The event raised an impressive £7,500, which will be equally distributed among three deserving charities:

  • Stroke Unit at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH)
  • The Adaptive Sports Hub Trust
  • Headway Norfolk & Waveney

Both Ben Allen and Michael Crisp, Directors at Allen Tomas & Co, have personal connections to the selected charities and are thrilled that the funds raised will support local residents in Norfolk. Ben’s aunt received outstanding care at The QEH Stroke Unit in 2016, making the cause especially meaningful for him.

Ben, Michael, and Client Relationship Manager Sam Phillips presented a cheque for £2,500 to Jodie Tillett, Stroke Nurse Manager at The QEH, and her team. Jodie expressed her gratitude to the group: “This fantastic amount will go a long way towards purchasing new stroke rehabilitation equipment, enhancing and improving our patient experience.”

The company has recognised everyone who participated, donated, and helped make the event a success, including the staff at Allen Tomas & Co and the team at Heacham Manor Golf Club for their excellent hospitality.

Ends.
