These cameras are being used to help the Trust understand the number of cars coming onto site daily as well as the number of pedestrians and cyclists travelling to The QEH. This data will allow teams to track trends of busier days and understand how many people are sharing cars with others when they visit. These cameras will not record number plates, identify cars or people in any way.
This work is part of the Trust’s ongoing commitment becoming a more sustainable and environmentally conscious site, working with partner Mobilityways to promote greener ways to travel.
Paul Brooks, Director of Estates and Facilities, explains: “This work is giving us invaluable data we’ve never had before about the number of cars coming to The QEH on a daily basis. This kind of information will be essential as we move forward with plans for our new hospital and look to increase the number of people who travel to us in a more sustainable way.
“This data will help inform our conversations with our local stakeholders such as councils and bus companies and we look to develop and plan services together.”
