QEH invites local communities to share their views on the future of the NHS

The QEH is inviting local residents to take part in a series of public engagement events as part of the national campaign ‘Change NHS: Helping Shape a Health Service Fit for the Future’.

The QEH is inviting local residents to take part in a series of public engagement events as part of the national campaign ‘Change NHS: Helping Shape a Health Service Fit for the Future’.

The Trust’s Patient Experience Team have started hosting these events to provide an opportunity for the public to share their thoughts and experiences, as well as to learn more about the future plans for the NHS, including the 10-Year Health Plan.

The next events will give members of the public a chance to meet with key members of the hospital team, learn about positive actions already taken to improve patient experience, and discuss how the NHS can adapt to meet the challenges of the future. The sessions will focus on engaging local voices to help shape the local and national health service going forward, ensuring it’s fit for future generations.

Pippa Street, Chief Nurse at The QEH, said: “As a team, we are committed to delivering care that meets the needs of our local community. We need your input to help us create a healthcare system that is responsive, effective, and sustainable for years to come. By attending these events, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the future of the NHS, ensuring that it continues to deliver high-quality care for everyone.”

Event Details:

  • Swaffham Assembly Rooms – 29 January 2025, 1pm – 4.30pm
  • Long Sutton Market House – 10 February 2025, 1pm – 4.30pm
  • Queen Mary Centre, Wisbech – 17 March 2025, 1pm – 4.30pm

Everyone is welcome and refreshments will be provided.

These events are part of a national conversation about the future of the NHS. The 10-Year Health Plan aims to address the challenges facing the health service, such as increasing demand for care, an ageing population, and rising levels of complex, long-term illnesses. It also tackles the challenges NHS staff face, including outdated technology and pressure on social care systems.

The national campaign is seeking input from both staff and the public to create a health service that is resilient, effective, and adaptable in the face of growing pressures. By attending one of these public sessions, participants will have the opportunity to share their experiences – whether good, bad, or frustrating – and help shape this once-in-a-generation opportunity to improve healthcare delivery across England.
