Team QEH unite to raise more than £1,600.00 for hospital charity at GEAR 10k

A team of 10 dedicated runners laced up their trainers at the weekend, covering a collective distance of 100km and raising more than £1,600.00, in support of The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) Epic Moves, Better Lives Appeal.

The intrepid group joined the throng of more than 3,000 runners for the annual run through King’s Lynn’s historic town centre to raise valuable fund for this worthy cause.

The Epic Moves, Better Lives Appeal is designed to support frail and cognitively impaired patients with specialist exercise therapy sessions as well as allowing therapists to share their expertise with QEH staff, to extend this high-quality service to more patients. The money raised will go towards the appeal’s £20,000 target.

Dr Katie Honney, Clinical Lead for Dementia Care, said: “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supports this important campaign. Every donation helps us continue providing life-changing care to our most vulnerable patients.”

Each year, The QEH supports over 1,400 patients with progressive cognitive conditions. This fundraising initiative helps ensure they have access to therapy that enhances recovery and improves quality of life.

Samantha Taylor, QEHKL Charity Manager, added: “A huge congratulations to our runners and thank you for raising vital funds for our hospital. Your efforts will have a real impact on our patients, their families, and the staff who care for them.”

The QEH GEAR 10K team included:

  • Rachel Bulman
