The QEHKL Charity was delighted to be part of the Royal event, now in its 142nd year, to raise awareness and valuable funds for its EPIC Moves, Better Lives appeal – an initiative supporting reconditioning and exercise therapy at The QEH for patients living with cognitive impairment and frailty. Showcasing the vast array of vital work the charity undertakes ever year to help enhance patient care, the team greeted thousands of visitors in the spectacular surroundings of Sandringham Park.
Set against the stunning backdrop of Sandringham House and Church, the Flower Show is one of the East of England’s most prestigious horticultural events, attracting over 20,000 visitors each year. With its rich mix of horticultural excellence, local produce, live entertainment and royal patronage, it offered the perfect setting for the QEH KL Charity to connect with the local community.
The team hosted a vibrant, interactive stand featuring a luxury raffle hamper and ever popular teddy tombola, drawing in hundreds of visitors and raising over £400 to support this most recent appeal to fund specialist exercise that helps patients rebuild strength, mobility and confidence during their hospital stay and recovery.
Samantha Taylor, Charity Manager at The QEH, said: “We were thrilled to be part of such a prestigious and well-loved event. The Sandringham Flower Show gave
us a fantastic platform to talk about our EPIC Moves, Better Lives appeal and the difference it makes to our patients’ recovery journeys. We’re so grateful to everyone who visited our stand, took part in the raffle or teddy tombola, and helped us spread the word — every conversation and donation really does help us go further for our patients.”
“The Sandringham Flower Show also gave us a fantastic opportunity to share the story of the QEHKL Charity with new audiences, meet our local supporters, and raise awareness of the many ways people can get involved. We’re grateful for the warmth and enthusiasm shown by everyone we met today.”
This year’s Show, attended on by King Charles III and Queen Camilla, featured garden displays from leading designers, demonstrations from renowned horticultural experts, and an array of trade stands, craft marquees and arena events including military bands – all in aid of local causes.
The QEHKL Charity team would like to thank the Sandringham Flower Show Committee for their kind support, and everyone who stopped by to show their support.
