Simon Rowe, Director at Radio West Norfolk, in partnership with Ward Gethin Archer Solicitors, has successfully organised the sixth Annual Christmas Toy Appeal, ensuring that children across West Norfolk – including those in hospital – will receive a gift to brighten their Christmas morning.
Among the 65 organisations benefiting from the appeal this year was The QEH. The hospital received more than 300 toys, which will be distributed to young patients to help ensure they feel the magic of Christmas, even if they are unable to spend the day at home with their families. These donations will provide comfort to children in hospital and the surrounding areas, bringing smiles and making Christmas morning just a little bit brighter.
This year’s Toy Appeal donated an impressive £29,000 worth of toys in total. Thanks to the kindness of residents across the region, hundreds of children – many of whom are facing difficult circumstances – will wake up to presents on Christmas Day.
Karen McGuire, Deputy Chief Nurse at The QEH, expressed her gratitude for the ongoing support from the community. She said: “The generosity of the people in West Norfolk continues to be truly heartwarming.
“Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to donate by buying an extra gift this Christmas.
“It is inspiring to see our community come together once again to make sure children, particularly those in hospital, don’t miss out on the magic of Christmas. We are incredibly proud to see the impact this appeal has on the children who need it most.”
Simon Rowe, Director at Radio West Norfolk, also highlighted the continued importance of bringing joy to children in challenging circumstances. He said: “It is a privilege to organise this appeal each year. The community spirit has once again been overwhelming, and we are proud to work alongside Ward Gethin Archer to help ensure that children, especially those in hospital, wake up to a present on Christmas morning.”
The success of this year’s appeal is a powerful reminder of the difference that collective kindness can make. Thanks to the generosity of the people of West Norfolk, children in hospitals – including those at The QEH – will be able to experience the joy of Christmas, no matter their situation.
