A grandfather who battled against cancer has said thank you to doctors and nurses at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King’s Lynn, who saved his life.
An improved, refurbished and welcoming environment awaits Breast Unit patients at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn as it opens its new Breast Unit.
The new unit, officially opened by Charles Hunniford, brother of TV personality Gloria, and representing the Caron Keating Foundation, boasts a number of improvements which will benefit both patients and staff for years to come.
This year The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King’s Lynn, is highlighting the “OK to ask” campaign, which encourages patients to ask about clinical research.
A new appeal is being launched at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn’s to offer additional support to patients, many of whom are in their dying days.
The Trust is asking for volunteers for a ward companion scheme, to be launched during the national Dying Matters Week, starting on Tuesday, May 10. A pilot scheme has already proved a success, appreciated by patients, families, carers and hospital staff alike. The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn is inviting people who are living with arthritis along with their family and carers to a special healthcare event.
The evening will host specialists in the field, who will share the most up to date findings on both understanding and living with the condition. Speakers include occupational therapists, rheumatology nurses and consultants who will guide and inform the guests on how best to live with arthritis, including practical support on activities that will help to manage the condition. Joseph and Myrtle Russell visited The Queen Elizabeth Hospital to donate £250 each to the Critical Care Unit and the Ambulance Trust as a thank you for the care Mr. Russell received.
The couple, from Wormegay, recently celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary and held a family party to commemorate their 60 years together. Mr. Russell had a heart attack in February last year, and was brought by the Ambulance Trust to the Critical Care unit at the hospital. The couple was so pleased with the care they received from all concerned, they asked for donations instead of gifts at their party and collected £500, which will be shared equally.
