Fundraising Media Release

Thank you from Team QEH

Staff at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Kings Lynn have thanked the local community for their continued support during COVID-19.

Staff from across QEH created a video sharing their thanks and best wishes to the King’s Lynn and West Norfolk community for their overwhelming generosity and kindness during COVID-19 which has seen endless fundraising, donations of food and gifts and letters pour in. The video featured QEH staff from many different departments including wards, admin teams, porters, radiology, estates and breast care.

Laurence Morlaàs, Fundraising Executive, said: “We wanted to say a huge thank you to our local community for their incredible support. Using feedback from our teams, we are implementing a number of staff rewards as well as some larger scale things including refurbishing our staff changing facilities and rest rooms to create a nicer environment for our hard working colleagues.

“We are working with our patient experience team on a number of patient projects which we will finalise and share details about in the weeks to come.”

A JustGiving campaign page has been created to bring together the fundraising efforts of all donators during the pandemic. At the press of a button, anyone can see the total money raised through online supporters, community fundraising pages and offline donations.

The page has raised over £57,700 so far, and includes donations from headshaves, runs, cycling challenges and the online support of over a thousand West Norfolk residents.

Laura Skaife-Knight, Deputy Chief Executive, tweeted: “Thank you to our fabulous local community for their support over the last ten weeks – it has really helped us get through this challenging period.”
