The group of nine riders will be cycling across Norfolk from The QEH to JPUH — in support of two incredible causes.
As Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) hospitals both have been prioritised by the government to be rebuilt and recently signed an Alliance Agreement with the national NHP, establishing the next phase of the development for these essential schemes.
The ride – which will begin at The QEH in King’s Lynn, and finish at JPUH in Gorleston – is the first of what is hoped will become an annual event, and features riders from both hospital teams, as well as representatives from WSP Ltd and Perkins & Will, who are providing healthcare planning and architectural services to the new hospital programmes.
Titled ‘Cycle 1.0’, the ride strengthens the relationship between the two hospitals ahead of their aligned development of new healthcare facilities for people living in Norfolk and aims to raise money for the respective hospital charities, which support staff and patients by funding advanced equipment, wellbeing spaces, and care enhancements that go beyond NHS budgets.
