Kayleigh McCourt, Ward Manager on West Raynham Ward has been awarded an Outstanding Achievement for Living Our Values Award after being nominated for supporting her colleagues.
Kayleigh was surprised by Chief Nurse Dawn Collins alongside her colleagues with the award and told the room how shocked and honoured she was to receive such an accolade. Kayleigh said “My core values are to lead with focus on others. Fair leadership creates a safe environment for staff so they can then provide the best care for our patients.”
Dawn Collins, Chief Nurse, who presented the award to Kayleigh, said: “I am so proud of Kayleigh and all she’s done running the ward and supporting our staff.”
Kayleigh’s nomination reads:
“I would like to give a heartfelt appreciation to Kayleigh, West Raynham ward manager for the kindness and empathy she consistently shows towards our team. She has fostered a culture of psychological safety where staff feel heard, supported, and valued. Her leadership is fair, compassionate, and deeply respectful, which has made our ward a much more positive and supportive place to work. She truly embodies the Trust values of kindness, wellness, and fairness in the way she leads and cares for her staff, always ensuring that wellbeing and respect remain at the heart of our team culture. We are incredibly grateful for her leadership, and she inspires me personally to strive to become a leader like her in the future.”
West Raynham ward provides specialist care for patients who have had a stroke.
The ‘Living Our Values Outstanding Contribution’ monthly award recognises Team QEH staff when they go above and beyond their duties. Nominations are received from patients, their loved ones and colleagues. The award is for both clinical or non-clinical roles.
